SGA kicks off spring semester with Trivia Night

Last week, the Student Government Association (SGA) hosted a Trivia Night in the Commons.

The event was done using the Kahoot platform, with three different rounds and a prize for first place in each one.

Sophomore Mathieu Johnson attended the event.

“I was invited, actually, by Gareth, a friend of mine. He said I should check it out and I saw the fliers, too. So it seemed like a fun event,” Johnson said.

Kara Simison, the director for communications for SGA, said she wanted the first town hall of the semester to be something fun for all the students.

“We chose trivia night because we had the same event last semester, just for a town hall, because it’s just a good way for students to come together,” Simison said.

The event seemed to be a success, with some people participating in the seats and in the balconies in the commons.

“I think it’s just a great opportunity to connect to the community here at IWU and have some fun,” Jenna DeMichael said. “I think we do a great job at creating a comfortable space for students to come in.”

DeMichael is SGA’s academic representative for the education department.

SGA has several more events planned for the rest of the year.

“We’ll also probably have a few more town halls for the rest of the semester, just again to have a fun event for students to come together,” Simison said.
