The Indiana Wesleyan University dorms embraced the theme of reality TV for Cookie Crawl 2025.
From “American Ninja Warrior” to “The Great British Baking Show”, the dorms represented many popular reality TV shows. Some dorms had unique reasons for choosing a particular show.
Ella Hudson, an RA in Evans, said they chose the theme of “Survivor” because one of the fellow RAs has applied to be on Survivor eight times.
“She hardcore petitioned for us to get ‘Survivor’. Due to her commitment, we actually did,” Hudson said.
The Town Houses had an interactive “American Ninja Warrior” course participants could go through before getting their cookies. South Hall featured “The Deadliest Catch,” and Beckett was “Wipeout.”
Hodson Hall decorated their dorm to represent “Beast Games.” The staff put fake money all over the floor and had tape on the floor representing the popular game “Last to Leave the Circle.”
Luke Dennis, an RA in Hodson, said choosing “Beast Games” was an obvious choice.
“We love Mr. Beast. When we found out he had a reality TV show, we actually watched it, and we knew from the very beginning that was our first pick, ‘Beast Games’,” Dennis said.
Dorms had different themes and also different cookies they gave out to students.
Ella Birtles, the Residential Director of the Lodges, said, “We didn’t actually choose (the cookies). SAC actually assigned the different cookies to the different halls, so they chose brownies for us.”
Some different cookies handed out include fortune cookies, Biscoffs, linzer tart, Thin Mints, and macarons.
Student Bryn Mealy said Scripture was her favorite theme, along with cookies, or as they referred to them in Britain, biscuits.
Students were given a card with 11 different cookie locations. Participants aimed to visit all 11, get a card marked, and return to The Hub to enter a giveaway.
McConn offered different specialty drinks during the evening. The Hub had five different types of milk to go along with the cookies.
Dennis said it is fun seeing everyone come together and have all the students go through the dorms.
