Students enjoyed a break from studying to gather with friends, play games, enjoy creative drinks and meet new people at McConn GloHouse.
Students often feel the pressure of due dates and places to be. It can be hard to take a break. On Friday night, McConn offered students an opportunity to take a needed study break at GloHouse.
McConn’s public house happens once a semester. The event features creative soda drinks served to the tables by their baristas. This semester, Public House was glow-themed with black lights, glow sticks and glowing drinks.
Students like Lauren Dick enjoyed tasting the creative drinks curated by the McConn staff specifically for the event.
“I liked how there were unique drinks that we could choose from. It was something different from the usual McConn menu,” Dick said.
Public House is a social event where students enjoy spending time with their friends. Paige Spenard said she enjoys spending time with friends without the pressure of having to be somewhere.
As a freshman, this was Dick’s first Public House. She said she met up with some friends at the event and walked around to talk with other people.
“It was cool to meet people outside of my normal circle,” Dick said.
Others enjoy playing games and making crafts at the event. Lauren Klien said she was excited about playing games with her friends. She said Uno and Tapple are two of her favorite games to play at Public House. Spenard brought games, coloring books and other crafts to the event.
As a senior, Lauren Klein has been to every Public House.
“I’ve enjoyed every single one and I’ll miss it when I’m gone,” Klein said.
