SAC fills the commons with dating event: Love on the Line

Student Activities Council (SAC) worked alongside their counterpart at Taylor to put on a dating show within the IWU commons called “Love on the Line”.

Being the second annual occurrence of the event, there was an incredible turnout from both schools.

Daisy Lookabill, Head of Marketing for SAC, made a comment on the attendance of the event.

“We had over 970 students from Taylor and IWU combined attend,” Lookabill said.

Love on the Line is in essence a blind dating show, one contestant on one side of the curtain, seven contestants on the other.

These seven students would then be asked a question and based on their response the singular student would then pick a single out of the seven to win the round, and the other 6 would lose one of three lives they had.

Once only one of the original seven remained, that was the singular contestant’s decided date.

Peter Hummel, an IWU freshman, was one of the lucky ones to get picked out of his group by the singular contestant.

Hummel said he enjoyed the event, saying “it was good to see all the smiles on the faces in the crowd… (as well as) the engagement from everybody there.”

In collaboration with SAC, McConn sported a full menu for the event, creating both an IWU and a Taylor drink to accompany it.

Within the breaks between the rounds McConn was shown a lot of love.

Kinsey Krieg, Marketing director for McConn, said “It was really fun seeing Taylor students be excited about having (the opportunity) to get McConn”.

With such a good turnout from both schools, SAC is excited to continue this tradition for future years alongside Taylor.
