IWU BASEBALL CLIMBING BACK

The Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats baseball team has battled through an up-and-down start to the 2026 season, but momentum is beginning to build as the Wildcats climb above .500.

Through the first portion of the season, Indiana Wesleyan sits at 12-10 overall, showing flashes of strong offensive production while working to find consistency on the mound. After some early non-conference challenges, the Wildcats have recently turned things around in conference play.

That turnaround came in a big way this past week, as IWU swept a four-game Crossroads League series against Bethel. The Wildcats captured all four games of the series, extending their winning streak to four games and bringing the team back to an even record.

The sweep gives Indiana Wesleyan some important momentum as conference play continues, and it could be a turning point for a team looking to climb the Crossroads League standings.

The team took care of business against Saint Francis on Friday, winning both games of the doubleheader. The first game resulted in a 29-4 blowout in 7 innings where the Wildcat offense exploded for 20 hits, including five home runs. The 29 runs scored were a program record. The second game ended 10-7 in favor of IWU. Braxton Brosmer went 2-4 with a home run, three runs scored, and one RBI. Saturday’s doubleheader against the Cougars is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Crandall Family Field.

With a winning streak underway and conference play heating up, the Wildcats will look to carry their momentum from the Bethel sweep and Friday’s offensive explosion into Saturday.
