At the beginning of last week, McConn announced that they are selling brand new physical gift cards.
Jamie Bryant, a McConn shift manager, said that the new gift cards came after they switched to a new sale system.
“When we had our old register system, we had physical gift cards that we were able to sell to our customers, but when we switched to our new point of sale system, it became more expensive to buy customizable gift cards in bulk,” Bryant said. “That was an inconvenience for a lot of customers, and it lowered our sales on gift cards, especially around the holiday season.”
With the new gift cards available at McConn, Bryant said the gift cards are available to any McConn patron to buy and can help with community initiatives.
“They are available by sale to any of our patrons, which would include faculty, staff, and especially community members,” Bryant said.” “I think it would aid in a lot of university wide, community initiatives where if we wanted to host someone on campus, we would be able to buy them a physical gift card that they could use at any time.”
As the new gift cards are being sold, many students have positive opinions on the new item.
Freshman Kayly Miller said that she recently got one of McConn’s new gift cards and thought it was helpful and easy to use.
“I actually finished my 25-dollar gift card and was able to get a lot of good drinks with it,” Miller said.
Miller said that she thinks the gift cards will be a valuable gift for students and parents coming to campus.
Another student, sophomore Haylee Cain, said that the new gift cards are a great gift idea for students.
“I think it’s a great idea, especially for grandparents or parents who want to give a gift to their students,” Cain said. “That way parents can gift their students something that they can use.”
Cain said that these gift cards can help bring other people from the community to campus.
The gift cards can be purchased at McConn during their business hours.
